Bimolecular Interactions
Sciences
Lesson Details
In developing an advanced version of edify’s Molecule Viewer we are working to allow the import of any Protein Data Bank (PDB) file with interaction data for students or researchers to explore real molecular interaction data in VR. Students can visualise and interact with pairs of 3-dimensional structures and the bimolecular interactions holding them in their unique biochemical conformation.
In VR we can explore the intermolecular interactions that give rise to biochemistry in away not seen before. Students and researchers can get up close to the intermolecular bonds between the nucleic acids in DNA and proteins, or between glucose and enzyme hexokinase.
