2. How the App Works
The App does not require users to create a separate Edifyaccount.
The App uses Unity Authentication and related session tokens to support secure multiplayer connectivity. Edify does not use this process to create a separate Edify account for users.
Users may choose an in-session display name for multiplayer functionality. Edify does not intentionally use this field to collect real-world identity information and does not separately retain it outside the live session. We recommend that users do not use their real name or other personal information as their in-session display name.
3. What Data May Be Processed
Edify does not ask users to provide traditional account registration information such as email addresses, passwords, or profile details in order to use the App.
However, limited personal data may be processed through the App and its service providers where necessary to support multiplayer and voice features. This may include:
- Unity Authentication or player/session identifiers
- session tokens used to support authenticated multiplayer connections
- device-related identifiers
- IP address or truncated IP address
- an in-session display name chosen by the user
- live voice data required to provide voice chat during multiplayer sessions
The App does not provide text chat.
4. Why This Data Is Used
We use this limited data only as reasonably necessary to:
- provide and operate multiplayer functionality
- authenticate sessions and support secure API calls
- connect players to the correct multiplayer session
- enable live voice communication between users
- maintain service integrity, stability, and security
- troubleshoot technical issues and support the operation of the App
We do not use the App to create marketing profiles for users, and we do not operate a separate Edify sign-in or user-generated content platform for this App.
5. Multiplayer and Voice Services
The App uses Unity services, including Unity Authentication, Relay, and Vivox, to support multiplayer and voice features.
Live voice data is used only to provide real-time voicec ommunication during multiplayer sessions. Live voice data is ephemeral and is not retained by Edify as recorded voice content.
6. Retention
Edify keeps personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the limited purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Certain multiplayer service data may be retained by our service providers for up to 30 days. Live voice data is ephemeral and is not retained by Edify as recorded voice content.
7. Deletion and Other Privacy Requests
Users may request access to or deletion of personal data processed by Edify in connection with the App by emailing privacy@edify.ac.
We do not charge a fee for such requests.
To help us process a request, we may ask for information reasonably necessary to identify the relevant multiplayer or session record. Where data is processed through Unity services, we may need to work with those providers in order to complete the request.
We may retain limited information where reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud prevention, or operational reasons.
8. Children
The App is intended for general audiences.
We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children beyond the limited data processed through platform and multiplayer services necessary to provide the App. Where applicable law requires parental or guardian consent, use of the App should take place with such consent.
9. Third-Party Platforms and Service Providers
The App is distributed through the Meta Quest platform. Meta may separately collect and process data as the platform and store provider. That processing is governed by Meta’s own terms and privacy documentation, not this Privacy Policy.
We also rely on third-party service providers, including Unity multiplayer and voice services, to operate certain features of the App.
10. Security
We take reasonable steps appropriate to the nature of the App and the limited personal data involved to help protect data against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or alteration.
However, no internet-connected service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. International Processing
Because the App relies on platform and service providers that may operate in different countries, limited personal data may be processed in jurisdictions outside the country in which a user is located.
Where applicable, we take reasonable steps to ensure that such processing is carried out with appropriate safeguards.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and update the “Last updated” date above.
